Athidi Review

Mahesh Babu's latest flick Atidhi released today amidst high expectations is a treat to action film lovers. One can say this is a film made with high technical values where each and every frame stands out to be a visual feast.
Despite of having rich production values, technical excellence and brilliant performance from Mahesh, Atidhi is just an average fare. It has no substance except style. Director Surender concentrated more on the action part and left off all other essential elements much needed for a perfect commercial film.

Mahesh with his new hairdo and cool looking costumes did a marvelous job as the protagonist. His character has different shades and all are well portrayed by the new generation Super Star of Tollywood. With his trademark run and subtle action Mahesh satisfied his fans again. He performed some mind boggling stunts and his dances are far better in this film from what he regularly does. Once again he excelled in emotional scenes.

His dialog delivery improved a lot in this film where he mouthed some powerful dialogs. Amrita Rao is cute but she may not get the attention of Andhra audience with such a lean physique. Her performance is noteworthy while Bollywood actor Murali Sharma looked pretty confident. In the context of the film some familiar face like Prakash Raj would have definitely helped the film's fate.

Murali is competent but didn't seem like a perfect match to Mahesh in terms of screen presence. Aashish Vidyardhi with cricketer Andrew Symonds kind of hair style is good.Surender completely relied upon the action scenes and gave a cold shoulder to comedy and other elements. Excessive violence and bloodshed in the last half hour left negative impact on the audience.

If he had cut down that portion Atidhi would've definitely got better talk than which was generated now. Music by Mani Sharma is OK and fights composed by Stun Siva are good. Cinematographer and Editor scored well but the dialog writer's job is not up to the mark. Festive season will help Atidhi's box-office performance and after that this film's fate solely depends on Mahesh. His one man show is worth a watch for sure.
